Benign Breast Lumps: Not all breast lumps and enlarged lymph nodes are cancerous. Some lumps can be harmless cysts. Enlarged lymph nodes can be caused by an infection or other conditions besides beast cancer. Non-Cancerous Breast Tumors are common. They may be considered non-cancerous but all breast lumps should be examined by a doctor. A mammogram, ultrasound, or needle biopsy may be necessary to confirm that the breast lumps are benign. Only a doctor can make the diagnosis of breast cancer.
