The Eppley Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is a leader in cancer research and patient care. Over 200 scientists and physicians with funding totaling $60 million work together to bring innovative, cutting-edge cancer therapies from the laboratory to the patients' bedside. This translational research found at the Eppley Cancer Center provides those with a cancer diagnosis and their loved ones with the best weapon there is for fighting cancer: Hope.

The Eppley Institute was built in 1960 in Omaha. In 1993 the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska approved its designation as the Eppley Cancer Center, reflecting the center's increasing commitment to translational and clinical research. The Eppley Cancer Center is one of sixty-three National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers in the US and the only cancer center in Nebraska to earn this distinction from the NCI, based on scientific excellence and the capability to integrate diverse research programs focused on cancer. World-renowned physicians in the areas of hematology and oncology, radiation therapy, surgery, and radiology provide care for over 2,000 new patients every year at the Eppley Cancer Center. A dedicated nursing staff works closely with physicians and patients to develop a specialized plan of care for each individual patient. Nearly 10,000 inpatient visits and over 13,000 outpatient cancer visits take place annually at the Cancer Center.

The Eppley Cancer Center is dedicated to facilitating education and cancer screenings throughout the state, promoting healthy lifestyles for the citizens of Nebraska, conducting cancer screenings in both rural and urban communities.
