Invasive (or infiltrating) lobular carcinoma: Invasive Breast Cancer is cancer cells that break through the breast milk duct and lobular wall and invade the surrounding fatty and connective tissues of the breast. Cancer can be invasive without being metastatic (spreading) to the lymph nodes or other organs. A mammogram, ultrasound, or needle biopsy may be necessary to confirm the diagnosis of breast cancer.
