The Grande Prairie Cancer Centre was established in 1987 as part of the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital. In 1992, it became an Associate Cancer Centre for the Alberta Cancer Board. The clinic was expanded in size in 1999. The Centre houses 10 chemotherapy chairs, two beds, four oncology clinic rooms and one colposcopy room. The Grande Prairie Cancer Centre serves a catchment population in northern Alberta and B.C. of 285,000.
