Multidisciplinary Breast Clinic

For patients recently diagnosed with breast cancer, patients with breast cancer recurrence and patients seeking a second opinion. The Shaw Regional Cancer Center’s Breast Clinic meets the challenges of breast cancer with rapid evaluation and determination of comprehensive treatment plan and options for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer. Excellent breast cancer care requires a multidisciplinary approach, combining leading-edge therapies with support services in a comforting environment. The multidisciplinary clinic allows the patient to consult with multiple cancer specialists on a one-on-one basis, in one convenient appointment.

The Shaw Care Team includes Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, Cancer Genetics and Social Work. The Team meets to review each breast cancer patient to evaluate their pathology results, surgical procedures and options, radiological images, etc. This allows open dialogue and determination of the best treatment option for each individual patient. The patient then meets with each member of the team as needed to discuss these options and plan in detail. The multidisciplinary Breast Clinic provides comprehensive consultations and treatment recommendations to breast cancer patients in a short time frame. Newly diagnosed patients, patients with recurrence and patients seeking a second opinion will all benefit from our approach.
