Less Common Subtypes of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma are just as serious but happen less often. About 80% of all breast cancers are invasive ductal carcinomas. This cancer starts in the milk ducts of the breast and spreads to the surrounding breast tissue and lymph glands. A breast biopsy can confirm the cancer diagnosis and help decide a cancer treatment such as breast cancer surgery or breast cancer chemotherapy.
