An intraductal papilloma is described as a tiny wart-like growth in breast tissue that can sometimes puncture a breast milk duct. These benign breast tumors are composed of fibrous tissue and blood vessels. Intraductal papillomas grow inside your breast's milk ducts, and can cause benign nipple discharge. They may be considered non-cancerous but all breast lumps should be examined by a doctor. A mammogram, ultrasound, or needle biopsy may be necessary to confirm that the breast lumps are benign. Only a doctor can make the diagnosis of breast cancer.
